Mitsubishi PH Offers Priority Lane, Discounts to Front Liners

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) salutes the front liners in the fight against COVID-19 by offering them priority status at all transactions and services, hefty discounts on oil change services, and free multi-point inspection.

With all of Mitsubishi dealerships set to open on May 16 (some, in GCQ areas have been open since May 6), front liners can get a synthetic oil change for as low as P 1,300 (parts and labor). The promo covers:

• Doctors of medicine
• Nurses
• Medical technologists
• Midwives
• Pharmacists
• Radiologic technologists
• Registered nutritionists / dieticians
• Police
• Soldiers
• Firefighters
• Public order and safety officers
• Delivery service operators (Grab, Lalamove)
• Journalists

Front liners simply need to show their government-issued ID or hospital ID to prove their profession. Furthermore, the vehicle’s OR/CR must be under the name of the front liner or his/her spouse, or any immediate family member.

Aside from discounted oil change packages and multi-point inspections, front liners are entitled to a priority lane whenever they visit a Mitsubishi dealership for maintenance or repair services. This priority treatment covers everything from service reception all the way to bill payment and car wash.

The promo runs until June 30, 2020.

From Pajeros to Face Shields: Mitsubishi Shifts to COVID-19 Efforts

Mitsubishi Motors is now producing face shields in Japan to help against the spread COVID-19 infections.

Production has started at the Japanese carmaker’s Okazaki Plant in Aichi and in other facilities to the tune of 1,500 face shields per month. Mitsubishi has donated the first batch to the city of Okazaki. Another production site, Pajero Manufacturing Co., Ltd. In Gifu Prefecture, also donated the produced face shields to a hospital in Minokamo City, Gifu Prefecture.

Further, MMC is planning to donate them in Okayama Prefecture, where the Mizushima Plant is located.

MMC plans to ramp up the face shield production and produce other products such as face masks for preventing the spread of infection.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections, MMC group will continue to utilize its factory facilities and expertise, while cooperating with national and local governments, as well as related organizations around the world.

Mitsubishi PH Lends 2 Additional L300 Units for COVID-19 Response

To help further boost the transportation needs for the city’s front liners, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) extended its assistance to the local government of Santa Rosa City, Laguna by lending two L300 units.

The L300 vehicles were personally handed over to Santa Rosa City Mayor Arlene Arcillas. The units will be utilized as a shuttle service for the front liners to and from their respective destinations within the boundaries of Santa Rosa City during the enhanced community quarantine period. This brings the total units lent by MMPC to four after an initial lend out last March.

In her message, Mayor Arcillas shared, “The City of Santa Rosa would like to thank Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation for lending us two Mitsubishi L300 units to be used during this time of need, when all the resources not only of the LGUs, of the national government but of the private groups as well are really very important… the said units are now being used to shuttle people and goods that we distribute to our constituents who are home quarantined…we truly appreciate all the help and support of MMPC to the City of Santa Rosa not only now but ever since the Corporation has chosen the City to be their home… again, to MMPC, maraming, maraming salamat po!”

MMPC President and CEO Mutsuhiro Oshikiri, on the other hand, also expressed his gratitude to the city’s front liners, “Mitsubishi Motors Philippines is one with the city government of Santa Rosa in the fight against this virus. We our deeply thankful and grateful for all the sacrifice being done by our front liners to keep this wonderful city safe. We will remain your partner in these trying times. ” With the extension of the enhanced community quarantine, MMPC shall also extend the lend out of the units.

Mitsubishi PH Extends Warranties, PMS Due to Enhanced Community Quarantine

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has announced that due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine, it is extending all expiring warranties and offering a grace period for all missed Periodic Service Maintenance (PMS).

In a statement, the Japanese carmaker says that all warranties expiring within the period covered by the Enhanced Community Quarantine are extended until June 30, 2020 subject to the company’s warranty guidelines.

Furthermore, all vehicles covered by warranty, but missed their respective PMS are given a 30-day extension to come in for their PMS after the lifting of the Enhanced Community Quarantine.

Mitsubishi PH Helps Santa Rosa's COVID-19 Efforts

As its way of recognizing the efforts of Filipinos, particularly at its hometown of Santa Rosa City, Laguna, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) lent out L300 shuttle units through the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

These two L300 units were provided to DOTr to assist in the servicing of health workers, support staff, and other front liners from Sta. Rosa City in Laguna to Muntinlupa City and vice versa during the Enhance Community Quarantine period.

An additional two L300 units were lent to the local government of Sta. Rosa City to transport the city’s front liners within the area.

Each unit will be allowed to carry 10 passengers, including the driver, to observe the social distancing rule being implemented.

MMPC Extends Auto Loan Deadline by Up to 60 Days

Taking Toyota Motor Philippines’s lead in deferring auto loan payments by 30 days, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has now done the same due to the COVID-19 Enhanced Community Quarantine imposed on the entire area of Luzon.

In an announcement done on social media, MMPC says it has worked with the following bank partners to extend auto loan payment deadlines by 30 days for qualified customers:

• PS Bank
• Maybank
• RCBC
• China Bank Savings
• Robinsons Bank
• Sterling Bank of Asia
• Metrobank

Meanwhile, for those with auto loans with BDO, they will get a 60-day extension.

Mitsubishi PH Moves Offices to BGC

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) formally announces the assignment of some of its key departments to the country’s premiere business district.

Personnel from Sales and Marketing, Government Affairs, Service, Parts and Accessories and Finance were transferred from the Santa Rosa plant in Laguna, to its new location in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

As shared by Sales and Marketing First Vice President Mr. Alvin Dalida, “MMPC’s decision to transfer some of its employees to BGC will make us more accessible to our dealer and business partners now that we are located in the central business district of the Metro.” With its new office, MMPC also adopted similar policies from its mother company in Japan, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, (MMC) that will enhance and improve productivity and mobility of the company.

Philip Morris Fortune Tobacco Corporation (PMFTC) recently acquired 96 brand new units of fleet vehicles from Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC). The recent purchase comprised of 48 units of L300, 46 units of Montero Sport, and 2 units of Pajero. The acquisition of these units is part of PMFTC fleet expansion.

These units were delivered by MMPC’s dealers Citimotors Inc., Makati and Diamond Motor Corp. - Quezon Avenue. According to PMFTC the units will be utilize for various business operations all over the country.

Mitsubishi to Take Engineering Lead in Southeast Asia for Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance

Despite persistence that the Alliance was in the verge of breaking up post Carlos Ghosn, Renault, Nissan, and Mitsubishi have jointly announced that they are instead deepening their relationship. This is not just to maximize the collaboration within each Alliance member, but also to enhance their competitiveness globally.

The new framework, ratified at a meeting of the Alliance Operating Board (AOB) in Yokohama, Japan, will enhance the ability of the Alliance member companies to capitalize on the individual company’s strengths and complement their strategies.

The AOB also reaffirmed key programs outlined at the previous board meeting in November to support initiatives that will enable each member company to increase competitiveness and profitability amid the industry shift to new mobility services.

Among the plans in place include an engineering model that will work on a leader/follower model covering platforms, powertrains, and other key technologies. This means that one company will take the lead in the Alliance for the development of each key technology, which will then be spread among Alliance partners.

Interestingly enough, the Alliance revealed the so-called “leader” for each key market. Nissan will take the lead for China, Renault for Europe, and Mitsubishi for Southeast Asia.

As a consequence of this announcement, the three companies will announce changes to their own strategic mid-term plans which will be disclosed in further detail coming May 2020.

Mitsubishi PH Delivers L300, Xpander Units Through Government's Transparent Procurement System

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) recently delivered L300s and Xpander units to the Department of Health (DOH) through the Procurement Service, an attached agency of the Department of Budget and Management.

With the Procurement Service, government agencies can order the vehicles via online and have it delivered to the agency doorstep after validation and payment of request. This initiative aims to further streamline the process of procuring motor vehicles while maintaining the principles of economy, efficiency, and check and balances.

The total number of approved units to be delivered by Mitsubishi through the system are 232 units of the L300 Euro 4 with FB Body and 33 units of the Xpander GLX Plus AT through CitiMotors Makati and Diamond Motors Fairview, respectively.

Aside from DOH, MMPC is set to deliver more units to various agencies with vehicle requirements from PS-DBM in the coming months.

As one of the partners of the Procurement Service, MMPC supports the government’s thrust to reform the government procurement system and ensure transparency, efficiency, and economic use of tax payer’s money.

Mitsubishi Philippines to Introduce Outlander PHEV and Set to Install EV Charging Stations at Dealerships

Five Mitsubishi dealerships have just signed on to become the first in the Philippines to offer the charging of Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles (PHEV) through a new showroom concept called, “Dendo Drive Station.”

In addition to standard showroom functions such as new vehicle sales and aftersales services, the Dendo Drive Station concept features solar power system and vehicle to home (V2H) equipment. This system allows the charging of EVs and PHEVs at the showroom as well supplying electricity from EVs and PHEVs back to the showroom.

The five dealerships are: Union Motors Corporation, Fast Autoworld Philippine Corporation, SFM Sales Corporation, Motorplaza Incorporation, and Mindanao Integrated Commercial Enterprises, Inc.

This is inline with Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC)’s plan to introduce the Outlander PHEV within 2020.

The Outlander PHEV combines a front-mounted 2.0-liter engine with two other electric motors: one in the front and one at the back. It can on three unique modes: EV Drive, Series Hybrid, and Parallel Hybrid Mode.

Since it opened the first one in Tokyo in 2016, MMC has opened 79 Dendo Drive Station showrooms have been opened in Japan. The first one in the Philippines will open towards the end of 2020.

“Similar to Japan, the Philippines is the country with many natural disasters,” said Osamu Masuko, MMC’s chairman of the board, at the Dealer Conference held today. “I believe that this Dendo Drive Station will contribute to enhancing the society resilience and local economic development.”

Mitsubishi Just Produced Its 700,000th Vehicle in the Philippines

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) adds another milestone to its historical achievements as it celebrates its 700,000 unit production milestone. Since 1964, MMPC has been manufacturing quality vehicles, which in return helps drive the Philippine economy forward.

In a ceremony held at Sta. Rosa Plant, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation, MMPC rolled out the Mirage G4 as its 700,000th unit production.

Mitsubishi is Building an Xpander-based SUV

Mitsubishi is adding a brand-new 7-seater MPV with crossover-like styling to its line-up. The new vehicle, likely based on the Xpander, “embodies the brand and crosses the characters of MPVs and SUVs.”

The Xpander is already a big hit in countries such as Indonesia and the Philippines, and the addition of a 7-seater crossover based on it will just cement its dominance in the market.

While Mitsubishi has yet to reveal any details on the brand-new crossover, it’s clear from the teaser photo that it’ll be based off the Xpander save for additional body cladding and the increased ride height. Furthermore, it’s a safe bet that it’ll share the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine and 4-speed automatic as the Xpander as well.

Its global debut is slated for November 12 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
