Sole Jaguar Land Rover Dealership in PH to Re-Open on May 16

All British Cars (ABC), the sole authorized dealership of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, parts, and accessories in the Philippines, is preparing to re-open its dealership from May 16, 2020 (Sales) and May 18, 2020 (Service and Parts).

The health and safety of customers and employees is ABC’s top priority. That’s why the dealership has added the necessary precautionary measures in making sure that the showroom and service center are well-maintained and disinfected on a regular basis.

Customers are encouraged to make both sales and service maintenance appointments beforehand. In this way, ABS can quickly accommodate to the clients’ needs on arrival and ensure that social distancing is met at all times.

Clients can expect the following guidelines implemented:

• Daily building sanitation, most especially the high-traffic contact surfaces
• Employees will be asked to be disinfected in tents and will be given facial masks before they enter our facilities
• Temperature checks at all entry points of the premises.
• Sanitizers placed at entrances of the showroom and service areas.
• Thorough sanitation of customer lounge area which includes the chairs, tables, coffee maker, refrigerator, cups, and utensils.
• Cleaning and sanitizing test drive units, particularly before and after each test drive. 

In the aftersales area, ABC will be implementing extra procedures to ensure a client’s vehicle is worked on in the cleanest way possible. All vehicles visiting the workshop will receive a complimentary sanitizing prior to return of the vehicle that focuses on the interior, gear stick, door handles, and fuel cap. Key fobs will be disinfected upon receipt and prior to turning over, and ABC will start accepting cashless payments including bank transfer for service payment.

Jaguar Land Rover to Re-Start Production on May 18

Jaguar Land Rover plans to gradually resume production from May 18, 2020, starting with manufacturing plants in Solihull in the UK as well as in Slovakia and Austria.

In China, Jaguar Land Rover is beginning to see recovery in vehicle sales and customers are returning to their showrooms. Their joint venture plant in Changshu with Chery has been in operation since the middle of February.

As countries are relaxing distancing guidelines and retailers are reopening around the world, the restart of production at our other plants will be confirmed in due course.

The British carmaker says that the health and well-being of their employees is their first priority. With that, they are developing robust protocol and guidelines to support a safe return to work. Among measures they have drawn up include strict social distancing measures.

Land Rover and Zenith Team Up to Celebrate the All-New Defender

Zenith has worked with Land Rover to create a special edition watch celebrating the all-new Land Rover Defender.

Like the legendary SUV that inspired it, the Defy 21 Land Rover Edition is modern, durable and highly desirable. Timed to coincide with the arrival of New Defender, it is limited to only 250 pieces.

The Defy 21 Land Rover Edition is the latest result of a four-year partnership between Land Rover and the historic Swiss watchmaker.

It represents a complete makeover of Zenith’s chronograph with a raw and minimalist look. Crafted in a special micro-blasted titanium case that absorbs light from all angles to better accentuate its faceted surfaces, it is both eye-catching and stealth-like.

The dial appears as one with the case with its muted matte grey color, offering a very different look to the open-dial standard versions of the Defy 21. Orange and white painted markers add legibility and contrast to the display, as do the specially shaped skeleton hands. A first for the Defy 21, the power reserve display for the 1/100sec chronograph is executed in the form of a liner window instead of a hand.

Through the specially engraved case back, the display offers a view of the El Primero 21 1/100sec movement with a custom oscillating weight, in the form of a miniaturized five-spoke Land Rover wheel.

Like the different modular packs offering Defender the perfect adaptability to different driving needs, the Defy 21 Land Rover Edition comes with two straps: the ‘Adventure’ strap with an all-terrain textured rubber, and the ‘Country’ featuring a gray rubber strap with a fabric effect and orange stitching.

Jaguar Land Rover Says This is the Car Seat of the Future

Jaguar Land Rover is developing what they deem to be the car seat of the future—a pioneering shape-shifting system that’s designed to improve comfort and reduce the health risks of sitting down for too long.

The ‘morphable’ seat, being trialed by Jaguar Land Rover uses a series of actuators in the seat foam to create constant micro-adjustments that make your brain think you’re walking, and could be individually tailored to each driver and passenger.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because Mazda currently uses this technology on their new-generation vehicle. Though their design doesn’t contain any electric actuators, Mazda optimized its seat design to maintain the spine’s natural S-curved shape—its shape while walking or standing upright.

Anyway, going back to Jaguar Land Rover’s research, they find that by simulating the rhythm of walking, the tech can mitigate against the health risks of sitting down for too long on extended journeys.

Founded in 1985, Bowler pioneered the production of dedicated off-road competition cars in the UK and has achieved success in international rally raid events. The expertise Bowler has amassed for all-terrain vehicle dynamics, low-volume production techniques, and proving the durability of components under extreme conditions, is highly sought-after.

Special Vehicle Operations is a fast-growing business that amplifies the key attributes of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles to create distinctive world-class products – including SV, Vehicle Personalization, and Classic. Adding Bowler as a fourth business unit is a natural fit.
