Hope You Love Gauges, Because Chevy's Giving You Gauges in the Colorado
Chevrolet is showing off a pair of Colorado Concepts that highlight the unique ways you can personalize it. Showed off at the 2019 Thailand International Motor Expo are the low-stance Chevrolet Colorado RS Street and the high-stance Colorado Panther.
The Colorado RS Street is supposed to be a “rule-breaking” pickup truck and with that, it’s supposed to evoke Chevrolet’s racing heritage, particularly, NASCAR. And so, what does Chevy do? They get a low stance pickup truck, lowered it further, slapped on 18-inch wheels, and thrown in a racing-style steering wheel, sports-style gear knob, brake, and clutch pedals, and of course, a fuckton of gauges. Then, they go so far as to say, “if it were street legal, you’d already be under arrest.” Yup, under arrest by the fashion police. Well, at least it’s got Brembo brakes (including a rear drum-to-disc swap) and Recaro bucket seats.
On the flipside, there’s the Colorado Panther. And next to the RS Street, this one’s an easier swallow. So, it comes as no surprise that Chevrolet sought GM Australia to create this one. With that, they added an off-road bash plate and Warn winch at the front. Then, it gets tubular side steps, a rear step package, LED light bar, and 17-inch wheels with BF Goodrich tires. Oh, and the suspension’s enhanced by Old Man Emu.

The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado's Front-End is Basically All Grille
Chevrolet’s attempts to refresh their products in the ASEAN market seem to be limited to mere accessory jobs like the Colorado Trail Boss, Colorado High Country Storm, and the Trailblazer Phoenix. In the U.S. meanwhile, it gets an entirely new front-end that’s basically all grille.
From the 2021 model year onwards, Chevrolet wants to offer greater differentiation between Colorado trims and for that, they’ve opted for new center bars, lower fascia, and front skid plates for some trims and for the bad-ass ZR2, it gets the “flow-through” Chevrolet face. Chevrolet says not only is the new look more aggressive, but it also improves visibility. Aside from this, all Colorado models will get embossed “Chevrolet” lettering on their tailgates, replacing the traditional bowtie.
The Colorado lineup will now feature greater differentiation from trim to trim and the addition of the new “Sand Dune Metallic” exterior paint color option available on the Z71 and ZR2 models. All Colorado variants will also include revised front Chevy “bowtie” emblems and embossed “Chevrolet” tailgates in place of the traditional Chevy bowtie on the rear end of the vehicles.
Though Chevrolet has yet to mention may mechanical changes, one thing’s for certain: it’s making you wish the ASEAN models look more like their North American cousins.

Chevrolet Philippines Adds Yet Another Lifestyle Pickup with the Colorado Trail Boss
About a month after its debut in Thailand, The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI), the exclusive distributor of Chevrolet vehicles in the Philippines brings in a new variant of its Colorado pickup truck: the Trail Boss.
Unlike the Colorado High Country Storm which is based off the 4x4 variant, the Trail Boss is based off the Colorado 4x2, the Trail Boss dives deep into Chevrolet’s accessories catalog. It emerges wearing lots of black stuff. Upfront, there’s a black Chevrolet bow tie set atop a black grille; at each corner, black fender flares with 18-inch high-gloss black rims; and at the back, a ‘tactical-style’ black bed bar and a large black decal at the back that reads Colorado from at least 10 meters away. Decals on the tailgate complete the changes.
Unlike its Thai counterpart though, the Philippine market Colorado Trail Boss has a larger engine: the same 2.8-liter Duramax 4-cylinder found in other Colorado and Trailblazer models. With that, it gets the same 200 horsepower, 500 Nm of torque output. The only transmission is a 6-speed automatic.
The Colorado Trail Boss is priced at P 1,368,888.
